After teaser upon teaser, rumour upon rumour, and the longest wait for a Glastonbury Festival announcement in over 20 years, it is finally here! Did you guess correctly? Are you excited or disappointed with the news? Here at Ziggu HQ we’re certainly feeling the former so here is our breakdown of the Glastonbury Festival 2024 line up:
Kicking off the first headline slot on Friday night is English/Albanian singer and songwriter Dua Lipa. The 28 year old disco-influenced songstress carries critical acclaim with three Grammy Awards and seven Brits, winning 2024 Pop Act at this year’s ceremony. The timing of her Glastonbury headline announcement coincides with an imminent new album release, her third album titled Radical Optimism is released on 3rd May so be sure to check that out before catching her on the Pyramid Stage.
Breaking the record for headline appearances, with their fifth visit, is Coldplay. Chris Martin and Co will be bringing Saturday night to a close with undoubtably a visual performance to remember, if previous years are anything to go by. Their attendance at Worthy Farm comes as a continuation of their world tour, Music of the Spheres, that takes them from Athens to Auckland this year.
Another award laden performer will ensure Sunday at the Pyramid Stage is not to be missed, SZA jumps straight in as a headliner for her first ever Glastonbury Festival. Fresh off the back of winning three Grammy’s and International Artist at the BRITs, SZA will be bringing her R&B/Hip Hop performance straight from BST Hyde Park where she is on the Saturday night.
Dust off your cowboy boots or buy some now, as Country music royalty Shania Twain is in the Sunday teatime legend slot. The Canadian is also making her first appearance at the farm, despite having a career spanning 30 plus years and selling over 100 million records! In recent years Shania could be found in Las Vegas where she has had multiple residencies, this year is no exception, but she takes a break from this for a mini tour of the UK & Ireland.
